It began as a hobby after we were gifted with a Drone.  Now we have a family of drones.  Our first excursions proved that cinematography with a drone is an extremely difficult activity. We learned how to safely pilot a UAV but struggled with knowing how to produce usable, bumpy-free videos.  It took practice and a lot of trips into the mountains. We’re still learning.

Our drones are registered with the FAA – it’s the law.  We have educated ourselves on our local and state drone laws and stay abreast of any flight restrictions by checking the U.S. Air Space Map.  Paying close attention to the weather of the potential of lightning is crucial to our drone excursions, even when we are feeling energized about practicing drone filming techniques.

We are posting the videos below to remember the beginning. We smile at them now but learning to fly is not easy. It is not easy with drones or life. It just takes practice, lots of learning and an abiding respect and enthusiasm for the process.
